It is suggested to define the strategic points for the definition of the reclosers taking into account the frequency of the faults, the type of loads and their criticality, among other factors typical of the planning exercise aimed at regulatory compliance and increased profitability or return of the investment. Here are some cases where reclosers are normally installed when it comes to Power Distribution Companies:
A. In overhead circuits that present constant disconnections due to transitory faults.
B. At the head-ends of circuits, either in primary substations (AT / MT) or in secondary substations (MT / MT), reducing investment costs in cells and additional civil works.
C. At substitution points either manual or automatic through FLISR or Loop Automation schemes.
D. At strategic points in the circuits to differentiate critical loads and higher impact customers. (Eg Hospitals, Factories with high consumption, Clients with the highest number of failures).
A. Installation of recloser in Clusters.
B. Installation of reclosers in Maneuver Centers.
C. Installation of reclosers in distribution networks.
A. Installation of reclosers at the Common Connection Point (CCP) in 15kV, 27kV and 38kV networks.
B. Installation of reclosers for transformer protection.
